Meet the guide on arrival, take a short introductory walk through Petrozavodsk, and enjoy a breakfast arranged by Clubok. Drive to Northern Ladoga, then follow a locally designed route through conifer forest, textured rock formations, and panoramic viewpoints over Europe's largest lake. Tea with Karelian treats is served outdoors.
Check into the glamping complex around lunchtime. After lunch, travel off-road to three Northern Ladoga waterfalls, including Yukankoski, the highest waterfall in Karelia. The evening is free for rest or time together on the shore.
After breakfast, drive to Ruskeala Mountain Park for free time around the Marble Canyon, Italian Quarry, mountain lake, White Mountain, and old mine galleries. Optional park activities may include the underground route, a flight over the canyon, boats, or catamarans. Clubok can arrange an optional Ruskeala Express journey in advance and include its price in your quote.
Continue to the Ahinkoski waterfalls, where an eco-trail and suspension bridges cross the rushing water. Lunch is arranged at a trout farm. End the day by climbing the atmospheric staircase to Paasonvuori for panoramic views and an introduction to the hill's medieval history.
Board a small boat for a journey through the narrow channels and islands of the Ladoga skerries. Stop on an undeveloped island for a walk, then continue to Valaam. You will have about two to three hours to explore independently: visit churches and sketes, follow a prepared walking route, relax by the water, or purchase an optional boat, golf-cart, or e-bike activity.
The Valaam journey depends on safe weather. A storm warning may force its cancellation; alternatives are discussed separately with each group.
Travel north of Petrozavodsk to Kivach, Karelia's best-known waterfall, in the nature reserve of the same name. Continue to the ancient Girvas paleovolcano, where you can walk across solidified lava. At Mount Sampo, learn about Karelian heritage and the Kalevala epic, including Väinämöinen, Ilmarinen, and Louhi.
Leave Petrozavodsk by high-speed Meteor hydrofoil for Kizhi Island. The crossing passes through Lake Onega's island landscape. On Kizhi, join an excursion through the architectural ensemble of Kizhi Pogost and traditional farmsteads, then use your free time to walk independently or choose an additional museum activity.
